A Note on Success Rates

Several of these clinics publish success figures on their websites — some above 80%. We haven’t included them, because they can’t be compared: they mix pregnancy and live-birth rates, own-egg and donor-egg cycles, per-transfer and per-cycle counts, and none are independently audited. A clinic quoting 85% for donor-egg pregnancies and one quoting 50% for own-egg live births may be performing identically.

Anonymous donation. Egg and sperm donation are anonymous; recipients receive only non-identifying details such as height, hair and eye colour and blood type. Donors undergo medical, genetic, psychological and infectious-disease screening. Embryo donation is also available.

Who Georgia Suits — and Who It Doesn’t
