The EU Reimbursement Question
As with orthopedic surgery in the Czech Republic, EU/EEA patients should check reimbursement before booking. Under Directive 2011/24/EU, medically necessary treatment in another member state can be reimbursed up to what it would have cost at home — but prior authorisation is normally required for anything involving a hospital stay, which cardiac procedures always do.
