Published package prices for a hair transplant in Turkey run about £1,100 to £4,400, and roughly 90% of clinics quote a fixed all-inclusive figure rather than charging per graft. The all-in number is that package plus your flights and anything the package leaves out — usually a modest addition, not a hidden doubling.
The bigger question isn’t what the headline costs. It’s what the price is buying, because since 2023 Turkey has had a law about exactly that.

DHI and Sapphire FUE sit higher than standard FUE because of the specialised instruments they need, not because the result is automatically better for your case.
What’s In the Package, and What Isn’t
Usually included: 2–5 nights in a hotel, airport and clinic transfers, prescribed medication, pre-operative blood work, local anaesthesia, a translator, and aftercare for up to a year. Some clinics bundle PRP injections or laser therapy.
Usually not included:
- International flights — about £100 return from London to Istanbul
- Your own meals and spending during the stay
- PRP therapy at £200–250 per session, if your clinic doesn’t bundle it
So for a patient flying from the UK, the honest all-in figure is close to the package price plus a few hundred pounds — not the doubling that some comparisons imply.
The Part Worth More Than the Price
In May 2023 Turkey introduced the Hair Transplant Units Regulation (Saç Ekimi Birimleri Hakkında Yönetmelik), described as the first dedicated legal framework for hair transplantation anywhere. It is the most useful thing to know before comparing quotes, because it tells you what a legitimate clinic must have:
- A Hair Transplant Unit operating licence before it can legally operate
- Only doctors holding a hair transplant practitioner certificate may perform the incision phase. Assistants need their own certificate and work under a physician’s supervision
- Certified doctors must hold a valid medical licence, complete 40 hours of specialised training and pass written and practical assessments
- An operating room of at least 16 m², washable bacteriostatic surfaces, a sterilisation unit, HEPA filtration and positive air pressure, plus emergency equipment including an AED and oxygen
- An anaesthesiologist present for sedation or general anaesthesia
- Annual inspections by the provincial health directorate, with fines, suspension or licence revocation for violations
What to do with that: ask the clinic directly for its unit licence, and ask who will make the incisions — by name and role. A clinic operating properly will answer both without hesitation. That question separates quotes far better than the price does.

Note the split: two are specialist aesthetic clinics, two are full hospitals, and one carries no accreditation on file. Making Quotes Comparable
Get the graft count first. A fixed package advertised as “unlimited grafts” removes the per-unit comparison. Ask what graft count the surgeon estimates for your case after seeing photographs, then divide the package price by it. At £1.30 a graft, a 3,000-graft case is around £3,900 — check where the quote sits against that.
Ask what happens if you need more. Density often takes more than one session. Ask, in writing, whether a second session is included, discounted, or full price.
Ask what aftercare means. “One year of aftercare” from a clinic 2,000 miles away is mostly messages and photographs. Ask what it covers, who answers, and whether anything requires you to fly back.
Ask about the technique for a reason. If DHI is quoted at a premium over FUE, ask why it suits your case specifically rather than accepting it as an upgrade.
Who Turkey Doesn’t Suit
If your hair loss is still actively progressing, if you have an untreated scalp condition, or if you’re looking for a guarantee of density rather than an improvement, the cheapest route is to sort that out at home first. A transplant into a receding pattern that is still moving can look worse in five years than doing nothing now.

What to Bring
- Clear photographs of the hairline, crown and donor area in daylight, taken before you travel
- Your history of hair loss: when it started, how fast, and anything in the family pattern
- Any medication you’ve used — finasteride, minoxidil — with dates and results
- Full medical history, including clotting disorders, diabetes and any skin condition of the scalp
- Details of any previous transplant, including graft counts if you have them
Getting Started
Send photographs to two or three clinics and ask each for the same three things: the estimated graft count, the total price with everything named that it includes, and confirmation of who performs the incisions. The clinic that answers all three plainly is usually the one to book.
