The third Health Tourism & Medical Odyssey, organised by Agora, took place in Dubai on October 12–13, 2026. It’s an invitation-only, meeting-driven event: most of the real work happens in short, pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings rather than on stage.
Wellmap came to meet clinics and facilitators and to understand where medical tourism is heading. Here’s what we saw and what we’re taking home.

On Stage
The theme was “The New Patient Journey: From Treatment to Transformation.” Three topics mattered most to us:
- UAE clinics. A full panel, “One Destination, Multiple Centres of Excellence,” put Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Burjeel Medical City and others side by side. Each clinic presented its strongest specialties and its terms for international patients — seeing them side by side made it much easier to compare.

- Trust. Patient data protection, cybersecurity and accreditation. For a platform like ours, this means clear, verifiable information about every clinic — accreditation, specialties, terms for foreign patients — and careful handling of patient data.

- Partnerships and responsibility. How clinics, insurers, airlines and facilitators work together, and who answers for the patient when something goes wrong. A patient’s journey is only as strong as its weakest link, so every partner in the chain needs a clearly defined role.
Across both days, the conversations kept coming back to trust, cultural understanding and the human side of care: what it’s actually like for a patient to seek treatment away from home.
The Meetings
With each clinic, we discussed the terms of working together and next steps for collaboration:
- BMC (Burjeel Medical City), Abu Dhabi
- Healthpoint, Abu Dhabi
- Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi — already a verified clinic on Wellmap

We’ll share more as these conversations turn into actual listings and partnerships. In the meantime, you can see who’s already verified in the UAE on our UAE destination page.
